Region
Cross Country
Championships - Sunday 20th June
Entries have
now closed for the region event this Sunday at Ruffey Lake Park.
I'm sorry but we cannot accept any late entries. Click
here to see Doncaster athletes
who have entered. There is a link above to the "order of
events". The first event will start at 10:00am and events will
be marshalled about 15 to 20 minutes prior to each event so please
give yourselves enough time. Other important information
regarding uniforms etc can be found
here.
All centres of the region are required to
help with duty. You can see Doncaster's duty roster
here.
Thank you for your help |

Cross Country Photos
It was a
very cold, foggy morning when the Eastern 7 group of athletes took to
the hills of Ruffey Lake Park
recently. You can see photos of the day
here. Thanks to Dean
Sharples for these photos.

Eastern Metropolitan Region Cross Country – Sunday 20th June
2010
Once again the Region competition is being
held at Ruffey Lake Park, Doncaster and all the centres in the Eastern Region
(not just the ones that we compete against on Sundays) will attend.
Athletes of all standards can enter, but
we do need to enter prior to the event and pay for these entries, so
please check your calendar and let
Julie Bassett know via email if you
wish to enter as soon as possible. Please also let Julie know if you are
not entering so that we don’t have to follow you up. Thank you to those
who have already done this. Please note that you cannot ring the night
or two before and say you want to come. It will be too late. Entries
close Thursday 10th June and late entries cannot be accepted.
The region will organise a duty roster and Doncaster will be responsible
for some duties so please be available to help if required.

Cross Country Open Days
All entries to Open Days within the
Eastern 7 Group
(except
those noted as optional on our program) are organised
by our Cross Country Co-ordinator Julie Bassett. Entry to
any other Open Days are the athlete's own responsibility. Entry forms
for following Centres can be found here.
As there is
no cross country for the "Eastern 7 Centres" on the Queens Birthday
Long Weekend, you may like to take a drive to Mooney Valley or
Benalla. These days are optional for Doncaster athletes so if
you would like to participate, entry is your own responsibility.

Cross Country Sunday 18th
April – Parking options for Mirrabooka Reserve, Orchard Grove,
Blackburn (Mel 61 J3)
The best option for parking is in
the Orchard Grove Primary School car park off Holland Rd as
there is limited parking in the car park at the end of Orchard
Grove. It is then a 100m walk around the oval in the same
direction as the parking access road to the start area (west)
near the end of Orchard Grove. It has been requested that we
stay clear of the soccer fields to minimise damage to the poor
grass cover.
Attached is an updated Cross Country
calendar

Yes it is that time again, the Summer T&F season has
come to an end, and Winter running is about to start.
Cross Country is for all athletes Under 6 – Under 15. The season runs
from late April till late July with an end of season get together some
time in August (see program for details). It is great fun for both
athletes and their parents and is a fantastic way to keep fit over
winter.
Every Sunday morning for about half an hour, that’s it! - See the
Calendar/Program for Dates, venues and times.
Our Cross Country competition is run with other centres
from the Eastern Region - Box Hill, Ringwood, Collingwood, Nunawading,
Kew and Camberwell/Malvern and we compete as Doncaster in the Doncaster
centre uniform.
So if you love running and would like to improve your track time (no
matter what distance you run) or would just like to keep fit over
winter, this is for you.
For athletes already registered in the 2008/2009 Summer On-Track or T&F
Season, the fee this year has been covered by your summer fees. so you
don't have to pay anything. This includes all Open Days (except
optional days) and entry to Region & State Championships. What a
bargain!
For those athletes who are new registrations (ie: those who did not do
Little Aths over summer) the fee is $53. This includes your registration
to VLAA and DLAC, all Open Days (except optional days) & entry to Region
& State Championships.

Why not try it out? We love it and we are sure you will too.
